Pastor Wiggs serves with a sincere burden to preach the gospel, teach the Word of God, and help people come into a true and personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Called to Serve
Pastor Marvin L. Wiggs is the pastor and founder of Get To Know Jesus Missionary Baptist Church. He committed his life to Christ in 2011 and has continued to grow in faith, service, and biblical understanding.
In 2014, he began a weekly telephone Bible ministry with friends and family across the United States. What started as a small gathering for prayer and Bible study became a meaningful outreach that encouraged many and helped introduce others to the truth of God’s Word.
Preaching the Gospel
In 2016, Pastor Wiggs accepted the call to ministry and was licensed to preach. Since then, he has served through preaching, teaching, outreach, discipleship, and pastoral care.
His ministry has been shaped by a deep desire to reach those who may know about religion but have not yet come to know Jesus Christ as Savior.
Building the Work in Durham
Pastor Wiggs later pursued theological studies to strengthen his understanding of Scripture and prepare for the work of ministry. With a growing burden for souls in North Carolina, he and his wife, Sister Lanette Clay Wiggs, moved from Fresno, California, to Durham, North Carolina, in 2019 to begin the work of establishing a New Testament church.
A Heart for People
Through faith, prayer, and perseverance, Pastor Wiggs has led Get To Know Jesus Missionary Baptist Church in worship services, community outreach, Bible teaching, prayer ministry, assisted living ministry, and transportation outreach.
His heart is especially drawn toward reaching families, children, and individuals who need guidance, encouragement, and the hope found in Jesus Christ.
Committed to the Great Commission
Pastor Wiggs continues to serve with humility, dedication, and a clear commitment to the Great Commission. His desire is that every person who encounters the ministry of Get To Know Jesus MBC would come to know Jesus more personally, grow in the Word of God, and walk in the promise of everlasting life through Christ.
